Lula conversa com Alencar por mais de 1 hora em hospital
A visita do presidente da República, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, ao vice-presidente José Alencar, que está internado no Hospital Sírio-Libanês, em São Paulo, durou cerca de 1 hora e 30 minutos. Lula chegou de helicóptero, às 10h10, e saiu do quarto de Alencar pouco depois das 11h30.
De acordo com assessores da presidência, Lula encontrou o vice-presidente bem disposto, e os dois conversaram sobre política, futebol e economia. Inicialmente, os dois tiveram uma conversa reservada. Em seguida, a mulher de Alencar, Marisa, entrou no quarto e, posteriormente, os médicos do vice-presidente participaram da conversa. Ainda de acordo com assessores, Alencar estava sentado em uma cadeira, recebendo soro.
No último boletim médico que divulgou sobre a saúde do vice-presidente, o hospital afirma que Alencar "apresentou alterações clínicas e de exames de imagens e laboratoriais, sugestivos de obstrução parcial". Ainda não há confirmação sobre a necessidade de submeter o vice-presidente a uma nova cirurgia - o que será avaliado após o resultado de exames realizados na sexta-feira.
Após deixar o quarto de Alencar, Lula embarcou no helicóptero e retornou a São Bernardo do Campo, no ABC paulista, onde está desde sexta-feira.
A doença
Alencar descobriu que tinha câncer em 1997, quando após um check-up foi encontrado um tumor no rim direito e outro no estômago, retirados naquele mesmo ano. Em 2000, uma nova cirurgia retirou um tumor na próstata. Depois da retirada de outros nódulos, agora no abdome, Alencar foi diagnosticado com câncer no intestino.
Em janeiro deste ano, ele enfrentou cerca de 17 horas de operação para a retirada de nove tumores na região abdominal. Na mesma cirurgia, os médicos retiraram parte do intestino delgado, outra do intestino grosso e uma porção do ureter, canal que liga o rim à bexiga. Alencar chegou a ficar internado 22 dias após a operação.
Contrariando as expectativas, no entanto, os exames seguintes apontaram a volta de 18 tumores na região. Uma nova cirurgia foi inicialmente descartada e os médicos optaram por um remédio em fase de teste no Centro Oncológico MD Anderson.
O vice-presidente foi operado no último dia 9, para corrigir uma obstrução no intestino. Na ocasião, também foram retirados dez tumores encontrados na região do abdome. Foi a 14ª cirurgia a que se submeteu o vice-presidente.
